The Challenge

Due to the expansion of the building, an additional lift installation was required alongside the two existing De Jong goods lifts of the SL500 type. At the same time, the new layout of the building meant that one of the existing SL500 installations had to be relocated. It was desirable not only to adapt this lift to its new position, but also to modernize it where possible. This required an efficient combination of reuse, modification and expansion within a single project.

The Solution

One of the existing SL500 lift installations was modernized and relocated, with as many original components as possible being reused. In addition, a new SL1000 lift installation was designed, manufactured and installed in a shaft provided by the client. This allowed the existing capacity to be adapted to the new situation while also adding extra lift capacity. As a result, the building now once again has a future proof and efficient solution for internal vertical transport.
